New Concept Tools was started by Harry Prescott in 1978 in a small workshop located in the rural town of South Barre, Massachusetts. Everett had been active in the waterworks business beginning at a very young age, following in the footsteps of his father Harry R. Prescott who began the waterworks supply company H.R. Prescott & Sons in West Bolyston, Mass in 1914. Everett felt the industry was lacking in good quality hand tools. He started out by making improvements to the design of existing tools so that they would be safer and easier to use.

Today, New Concept Tools are still being designed and built by people with decades of experience in various utility fields. All of our products are time-tested and field-tested and will stand up to the toughest jobs. We won’t sell a tool or specialty product until we’re sure it will perform beyond our customer’s expectations.

We are constantly adding new tools to our line and improving established products based on comments we receive from users. Many products are redesigned versions of tools that have been in use for years. We improved the way they work and made them tougher by using heavy-duty materials such as schedule 80 pipe, solid steel stock or ductile iron instead of lightweight tubular steel or cast iron as many others do. Although our products are made using improved designs and stronger materials, they are competitively priced.
